Biography

When I was 11, I entered the Paris Conservatory - Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris - specializing in solfegio, I finished with a unanimous 1st Prize in cello in the class of Philippe Muller.
I then went to the Netherland to study with Anner Bijlsma, then to the United States. Thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Rena Shapiro Foundation, I was able to follow during two years the course of Harvey Shapiro at the Juilliard School in New York, where I obtained a Post Graduate Diploma.
When I came back to France at the age of 25, I was the co-cello soloist at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg for three years (1985-1988) before taking a position at the Orchestre de Paris (1988 to 1991) and I Solisti Veneti with which I toured around the world : Salzburg (Austria), Italy, Germany, ex-USSR, Australia, ex-DDR, Germany, USA, Russie...

I then decided to pursue a parallel career as a soloist and chamber music as well as a teacher. As such, I have been invited to numerous festivals : Les Arcs, Ansouis, the ANMC Nancy, , Kobe (Japan), Switzerland, Italy...

Many of my CD recordings cover original or unpublished works. I have been solicited to play with international artists such as Felicity Lott, Armin Jordan, the Quatuor Parisii, Theodor Paraskivesco, Geneviève Ibanez, Armine Varvarian ...

As a teacher and educator, I published a cello method in 3 volumes successful in many countries, a book of scales, (September 2014) and a selection in 2 books of Bach’s Chorals transcribed for a beginners cello quartet (February 2016 and Septembre 2020). I also served as professor-tutor at the Cefedem in Dijon and Bordeaux as well as the CNSMD in Paris, for the "diploma course in Certificate of Competence."

Similarly, I always give with much pleasure some "Master Classes" at the international or national level, for example in Kobe (Japan) in 2001, Brescia (Italy) and Falerone (Italy) in 2007 and 2008, and Buenos Aires (Argentina) in July 2012, Troyes 2018, Roquebrune/Vence 2019 .

I play an instrument by Landolfi (Milan1780) with a bow by Jean-François Raffin.

I also was a member of the Association Française du Violoncelle board from 2016 till 2020.
I am very committed to the cause of women, I have chaired for several years the Association "Women in Music" whose purpose in France is to promote the women composers. This association is related to many similar associations in Europe.

Quite naturally, I am a member of the ADAMI (Civil Society for the Administration of Rights of Artists and Musicians Performers) and SPEDIDAM (Society for the Perception of Rights for Musicians Artists).
